Publisher bags Ikorodu NORTH CDC’s education philanthropist award

The immense contributions of the Publisher of Oriwu Sun, Chief (Dr) Monzor Olowosago, to education in lkorodu division has, again, been recognized with a well-deserved award.

The Ikorodu North Community Development Committee (CDC), the umbrella body of all the Community Development Associations (CDAs) in lkorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), is the latest body to honour the philanthropic effort of the accomplished journalist of repute towards the growth and development of education in lkorodu North LCDA particularly and lkorodu division in general.

According to report gathered, Chief Olowosago was nominated for the award by the Federal Lowcost Housing Estate Development Association for constructing a block of six classrooms with toilets and offices at the Primary School located within the Estate where his Corporate Office is sited.

The award, tagged, ‘Education Philanthropist Award’, was presented to the Publisher at the Annual General Meeting, Prayer and Award Ceremony of the CDC, held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the Ikorodu North CDC Hall located within the premises of the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA), Sagamu Road, Ikorodu.

Chief Monzor Olowosago was represented at the event by one of his staff, Mufutau Jimoh who received the award on his behalf.

Presenting the award, Mr Owolawi, the Ijede CDC Chairman and representative of the Chairman of the Lagos State Community Development Advisory  Council at the event, eulogised Chief Olowosago for his countless philanthropic gestures and said that he is deserving of the award.

He also lauded the Publisher’s family (the Olowosago family) for their philanthropic activities over the years.

The event also had the presence of Oba Raji Balogun, the Eweye of Ikorodu (represented by Alhaji Sulaimon Musa), Hon. Adebisi Adeola Banjo, Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA (represented by Mr Abiodun Banjo), Hon. S.O.B Agunbiade, Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly (represented by Olawale Olowolagba), Sheikh  Musa O. Enijaoba, Chief Imam of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Abiodun Iyiola, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), lkorodu North, Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, Ikorodu North CDC Chairman, his exco members, as well as representatives of the 253 CDAs across the 5 wards in lkorodu North LCDA, CDC Chairmen from other five councils in lkorodu division and other stakeholders.

Also at the event, Oba Kayode Raji Balogun was decorated as the Grand Patron of the Ikorodu North CDC while a new logo of the body was unveiled.

Other awardees were Hon. Adebisi Adeola Banjo, Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Hon. Mathew Adesanya, a former aspirant for the Ikorodu North LCDA Chairmanship seat, Elder Laja Martins and Hon. Babayemisi K. Fakunmoju among others.
