The business contract between former Executive Secretary of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina and Lagos State Signage an Advertisements Agency (LASSAA) for the beautification and maintenance of Ikorodu Round-About has gone sour. Gbeborun learnt that both parties have divorced each other because instead of beautifying the strategic Round-About, the place was allegedly defaced and abandoned.
Gbeborun gathered that the former boss of the council and his agents, Lawson Thomas reportedly acted like the Trojan horse, a situation where vultures and devourers hid inside a beautiful horse only to gush out to attack an unsuspecting group.
According to grapevine, the Lagos State Signage and Advertisements Agency (LASSAA) had agreed with the ex-council head for the latter to maintain and beautify the Round-About after the ex-chairman had paid a token fee.
Trouble came when the council boss, Adesina, allegedly sublet the contract to another company, a doubting Thomas, which in turn will bring advertisers and collects payment with little amount going to the council and LASSAA, who flooded the Round About with all kinds of advertisements.
LASSAA was said to have been angered by what it saw as money flowing into the pocket of some people, while it will get a peanut. It condemned the flooding of the Round About with adverts which will cause distractions to motorists and accidents in consequence; hence, it canceled the deal.
Gbeborun learnt that though the Round-About has been abandoned for many months, LASSAA is still willing to give the job of maintaining the place to another corporate organisation since Hon. Adesina complained of having not enough money to run the place whereas; some people believe there are big companies and wealthy people who could have comfortably beautified that place as specified by LASSAA.
