Samadaani loses first wife, Alhaja Oritoke Oshoala

osholaThe death of Alhaja (Chief) Khadijat Oritoke Oshoala, the wife of Sheikh Y. O. Oshoala (As-Samadaani) came as a shock to many who found it hard to accept that she is no more. Alhaja Kudirat took her last breath in early hours of Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the age of sixty seven (67).
Meanwhile, hundreds of Ikorodu residence including prominent personalities as well as muslim clerics and faithful in and outside Ikorodu, out of their love for her, stormed the Ogunojalu Central Mosque where a Janasah prayer was held for her to pay their last respect.
After the prayer, her remains was laid to rest right inside the premises of the Ogunojalu Central Mosque as hundreds of people including her children wept to express how painful her demise was to them.
Recalling how their relationship journey started, the deceased’s husband Sheikh Y. O. Oshoala As-Samadaani (Chief Imam Oriwu Central Mosque, Ikorodu) said “her meeting with me was towards the end of 1965 and finally we became husband and wife in 1969. We had our first issues in December 1969 and last in October 1985, our marriage is blessed with eight children among whom one was deceased at the tender age of one year. Alhamdulillah all her children are graduates among who are lawyer, accountant, administrator, teacher. As a result of her living with her Christian cousin, after her primary education, she became a Christian. Alhamdulillah our union revived her into Islam. As a jihadist, she worked on her mother and sister who had earlier converted to Christianity.
While paying tribute to the deceased, her son, Barrister Yhaqub Oshoala, explained that their mother instilled hardwork and fear of Allah into them and that it shall abide in them forever.
He said that their mother always avoid stressing them even when she greatly needed their attention and that she once said to him that her prayer that her son would attend the great Oriwu College Ikorodu had been answered by Allah.
He however prayed that Allah grant her Al-Janat.
Also, another son, Abdul Lateef Adeyinka Oshoala, in his own tribute said that his mother was indeed a wonderful mother and that the love and care she showered on him were incomparable, adding that she was an epitome of motherhood.
He explained that he usually pacify people to be patient whenever they loose their loves ones but that he has however realized what it means to loose a valued and loved ones.
While remembering how he offended his late mother when he was very young at the time of his Walimat graduation, Abdullateef said that her mother did not think of the offence but rather she went ahead to get and sew a cloth without taking any measurement.
Alhaja Khadijat Oritoke Oshoala was survived by her husband and seven children namely Barrister Yhaqub Oshoala, Abdullateef Adeyinka Oshoala, Oshoala Kamaldeen Yahya, Ademola Ayanfeoluwa Oshoala, Khalilulah Oshoala, Mariam Maknajuola, Mrs. Adewuyi.
Meanwhile, a modest eight day fidau prayer was held at the Ikorodu town hall on Tuesday July 5, 2016 to seek Allah’s forgiveness and mercy for the departed soul of Alhaja Khadijat Oritoke Oshoala.
The event which featured a marathon prayer session for the deceased and the family she left behind recorded an impressive attendance of notable dignitaries which included Chief Imam of Lagos, Professor Nurudeen Olorunibe, Professor Adebayo Ninalowo, Chief Yekini Bakare, Publisher Oriwu Sun newspaper Chief Monzor Olowosago among others.
