The new Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS) Chairman and former Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, has said that his two years tenure would witness much needed development in Ikorodu in terms of projects execution.
While speaking during the inauguration of the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS) new executives on Sunday, August 27, 2017, he said that Ikorodu would become the toast and a place of choice with regards to community socio-economic development, tourism and heritage projection.
He also assured Ikorodu indigenes and residents that he and the new executive members of the association were ready and keenly interested in effecting change in cultural and developmental projects while upholding the legacies and visions of the association.
According to him, Ikorodu has untapped potentials, which the new executives would partner with individuals, groups and organizations, among others, to diligently tap. He cited boat regatta and historic archives already established as examples of such potentials and promised that the executives would do everything possible to ensure their success.
Hon.( Princess) Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the new Vice-Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, who was sworn in as the PRO of the association, stated in a press interview that under the able leadership of Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, Ikorodu indigenes, both at home and abroad, and all residents should expect the best from the association. She said that with goal-driven ideas already presented by the new Chairman, greater development in Ikorodu is possible.
Those who graced the occasion included distinguished personalities, socialites and stakeholders like Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya; Otunba Ayodele Elesho; the immediate past Chairman of IKODASS; Otunba Kunle Oyebola; Iyaloja General of Ikorodu, Alhaja Taofikat Allison; Barrister S.O.K Shillings and youth groups, among others.
