The former Regional Director, Skyebank Plc and the Asoju-Oba of Ikorodu, Chief Kazeem Ogbara, was on Friday, July 5, 2018, honoured with the ‘Financial Brand Personality of the Year Award’ by Marketing Edge Publications Limited, a leading top of the market and brand focused magazine in Nigeria. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was also honoured with the ‘Political Brand Personality of the Year Award’.
While welcoming guests to the event, the Publisher and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Marketing Edge Magazine, Mr. John Ajayi, disclosed the theme of the event, which was, “Rewarding Your Creative Edge” while also adding that the National Marketing Stakeholders’ Summit, tagged, ‘Marketing Paradigm in the Age of Digitalization’ had been scheduled the same day at the Balmoral Hall, Kudirat Abiola way, Oregun, Lagos, the same venue from morning till noon.
According to him, the night segment of the summit was organized to honour organisations and individuals, who have achieved extraordinary feats in the promotion and sustainability of their brands and advertising. He reiterated the fact that the awardees of the night were found worthy of the honours conferred on them and urged other people present to emulate them.
While speaking with Oriwu Sun on his award, Chief Kazeem Ogbara said he had garnered experience in different banks he had worked with. He said the award was not just about life style but about a brand that had been evolving over the years in financial institution like the Skye Bank PLC. He described the award as a great achievement, which showcased all what he had worked hard for all over the world, adding that it was a recognition given to the Skye Bank Plc. He promised his dedication and more commitment to sustain the financial institution.
The Regional Director of Skye Bank also expressed happiness at the royal presence of Oba Shotobi and Oba Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo during the night event. He said their presence signifies an uncommon show of love and support and thanked other people from Ikorodu that graced the occasion. He concluded by assuring the people of Ikorodu of more laudable services from Skye Bank and urged the youths to become good ambassadors of the division and their chosen professions so that, one day, they would be recognized for award of honour.
The Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, and his counterpart, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Orimadegun Kasali, led Ikorodu delegation to the historic event. After the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, was called on stage to receive his own well-deserved award as the ‘Political Brand Personality of the Year’, which was presented to his representative at the event, the State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, Chief Kazeem Ogbara’s name was announced. He won the year 2018 ‘Financial Brand Personality Award.’ The Asoju-Oba of Ikorodu was joined by his wife and they moved to the centre stage, where the two monarchs have been presenting awards to other awardees.
They presented the award to him on behalf of Marketing Edge while exuding feelings of joy and pride on the achievements of their own son. They had handshakes with him and congratulated him on this achievement in his chosen career. While posing with the award plaque together with his wife, they had a beautiful photo session with the two monarchs and the Publisher/CEO, Marketing Edge, Mr. John Ajayi to celebrate and felicitate with the people of Ikorodu on the well-deserved honour bestowed on one of them.

Manghani; President, Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Mr. Kayode Oluwasona; Group M.D, Sona Group of industries, Nigeria, Mr. Ajayi Musaddi, among others like telecoms, media and manufacturing companies as well as other personalities.
