is true, we can affirm that Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has awarded contract of Majidun road leading to Ebute-Ipakodo, which passes through Dangote factory.
The contract is said to be awarded to the reliable Consteng Construction Company Nigerian Limited, recently.
Informed sources from the party told Oriwu Sun that the road, which was first awarded by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu regime to Consteng Construction Nigeria Limited, was one of the best in Ikorodu and was handled by a reputable indigenous firm in Nigeria.
Motorists plying the road told Oriwu Sun Newspaper that the road, which was first built in year 2000, was one of the best in town but was destroyed by the heavy trucks and trailers, which frequented the road and caused excessive strain on it. Their movements caused the road so much damage and led to the current deplorable state.
The listening Governor Sanwo-Olu has decided to rebuild the road after many complaints from the division reached his office. The Governor, who recently visited Ikorodu Division, has commenced massive constructions and rehabilitations of road networks previously abandoned.
The road was again awarded to Consteng Nigeria Limited due to its reputation for quality work across the country. In an interview with the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the construction company, Engineer HOB Lawal, he confirmed the award of the contract for the reconstruction of the road. Though, he said he is yet to receive details of the contract, he promised the people of Ikorodu to employ the best tools, expertise, and machineries to accomplish the job.
Another great job from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in recent time is the award of the Powerline road around Burial ground axis of Ikorodu town,which has been proposed to create an alternative route to Lagos Road. This particular road has been a hot debate among residents of Ikorodu, who believe that the route will serve as an alternative way to motorists, considering the heavy traffic along the Lagos-Garage-Ogolonto route. The idea of the Powerline route, which was taking form during the Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola regime, was jettisoned and subsequent administration has ignored it until recently, when incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu rekindled the community’s hope.
The massive road constructions and rehabilitations going on in Ikorodu is a good sign and it shows how committed the Governor is to the people of Ikorodu. During his earlier visits, the Governor assured the people of Ikorodu that he would find solutions to the bad roads in Ikorodu Division, and true his words, he came back to mark the dualisation and upgrading of the Itamaga-Elepe road. He has also started work on the Alhaji Street, Igbogbo road and Abiodun Ogunleye road.
The Odongunyan road, which construction work has been at a snail speed, has caught the incumbent Governor’s attention and he is speeding up the completion of the road.
These roads have always caused pains and misery to motorists and commuters during rainy seasons; hence, the good people of Ikorodu will be delighted and indebted to Governor Sanwo-Olu as he is making effort to repair the bad roads in the
