After more than eight years of court case between the Lasunwon Ruling House of Ikorodu, led by Oba Kabiru Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, and Prince Tajudeen Odofin, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance during the administration of Air Commandor Gbolahan Mudashiru, over the Ayangbure stool, Oriwu Sun can authoritatively report that the legal battle has been amicably settled.
Sources close to the Lasunwon Ruling House (names withheld) told Oriwu Sun that the entire family, after series of meetings, resolved to appeal to Prince Tajudeen Odofin, to drop the court case and embrace peace. As part of the peace move, the family, during the 80th birthday celebration of Prince Odofin in 2021, rolled out the drums to identify and celebrate him, while the youths of the family visited his home at Ipakodo, in the early hours of his birth day with local drummers, to rejoice with him.
Prince Odofin was said to have received the family warmly and welcomed them with open arms to rejoice with him.
With this gesture, the sources said that the family had hoped that Prince Odofin would be impressed and withdraw the court case, but instead, he told the family to wait for the court to deliver its judgement.
Despite Prince Odofin’s refusal to vacate the case, the family persisted in their appeal to settle out of court.
However, Oriwu Sun gathered that a powerful and revered member of the Rademo Ruling House, was the one used by God, to achieve the family’s intention.
His intervention was said to have been acceded to by Prince Taju Odofin, due to the respect and love he has for him.
To prove that he meant his words, Prince Tajudeen Odofin, in his wisdom, was said to have boycotted the court when the case came up for hearing last month, a situation that forced the Judge to strike out the case.
It was, therefore, joy galore at the palace as the entire Lasunwon Ruling House and Kabiesi himself were relieved and engaged a mini victory celebration.
Oriwu Sun also gathered that the Lasunwon Ruling House are making moves to strengthen the newly found peace between the family and Prince Tajudeen Odofin, at a later date.
