Brig General M. Gadzama Ali visits Oba Shotobi, promisess criminals tough time

For the second time this year, a top rank Army officer paid a courtesy visit to Oba Kabiru Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu in his palace.

Brigadier General Moundhey Gadzama Ali, the new commander of the 9 Brigade, Nigeria Army, Ikeja, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, visited the revered monarch in his palatial palace while on an inspection of the 174 Battalion, Nigeria Army, Odogunyan, Ikorodu, Lagos.

Like other army officers who had visited the Oba earlier, Brig General Ali requested the support and cooperation of Oba Shotobi, his chiefs and entire people of Ikorodu for his operations during his tenure.

He also sought for collaborations with other organized security outfits in Ikorodu to ensure security of lives and properties and to checkmate criminal activities in the town and other neighbouring communities.

Brig. General Ali assured Oba Shotobi and his people that Ikorodu and its environs would be effectively secured and rid of criminal elements during his tenure.

In his brief response, Oba Shotobi commended Brig-General Ali for deeming it fit to pay him a courtesy visit and sought for his support and that of Ikorodu people for his operations.

He assured that the people of Ikorodu would extend same support, cooperation and cordial relationship extended to other military officers who had visited the palace in the past, to him to ensure that he has a successful tenure.

Oba Shotobi rounded off his response with a brief royal blessings and prayers for Brig-General Ali and his entourage which also included Lt. Col. B.C. Eze, commanding officer of 174 Battalion, Odogunyan, Ikorodu.

Other dignitaries at the event were Chief Ayodele Elesho, Chief Afolabi Omotayo Adekayaoja Solomade of Ikorodu; Chief J. Kolawole Adaraloye, Oponuwa of Ikorodu; Chief Rasaki Animashaun Mosene of Ikorodu; Madam Nusirat Shonibare, Erelu Ota of Ikorodu; Madam Laulat Lamidi, Erelu Sapajoye of Ikorodu; Otunba Olanrewaju Afuwape, Otunba Odonla of Odonla; Chief Olowonishaye Kuti, Ojonmu of Ikorodu; Chief Adeyemi Alagbe, Adegoruwa of Ikorodu; Chief Kareem Ore, The Apena of Ikorodu and other Osugbos; Mr. Lanre Labinjo, Onyabo Vigilante chieftain and Members of Ikorodu Council of Baales.
