Again, Jimi Benson’s food bank put food on the table of the poor

Hon. Jimi Benson, through his ‘I Care Food Bank’, on Saturday, August 18, 2018, distributed hundreds of ‘I Care’ bags of food to indigent constituents at the premises of his constituency office, along Ebute – Igbogbo road.

In his address, the representative of ‘I Care Foundation, Ikorodu West LCDA, Alhaji Ismaila Ori-Are, reminded constituents, who gathered to collect the food, how Jimi Benson had continued to cater for his constituents. Alhaji Ismail talked about the provision of graders and the grading of roads by Jimi Benson as well as the training of youths in the division in various professional fields while also empowering them after their graduation through a programme tagged: “Startup Ikorodu”. He also recalled that Hon. Benson organized a recent upliftment programme to empower constituents.

Alhaji Ori-Are also disclosed various empowerment tools and equipment donated by Hon. Benson, which included Tricycles, Hair Dryers, Vulcanizing Machines, Sewing machines, Generating sets of various sizes, deep freezers, among others. He said the intention of Benson was to ensure that all the constituents improve their standard of living through their handiworks.  Other things he said Hon. Benson had done included the provision of electricity, school buildings, boreholes, transformers, ICT Centre and donation of three million naira to market men and women in Ikorodu division. He restated the need for them to continue to support Benson as he is passionate about the development of Ikorodu division.

The beneficiaries, in appreciation of what the legislator had done for them, engaged in fervent prayers, including Christians, Muslims and traditional worshipers, offering supplication to God to enable him serve for the second term and later in higher positions. Prayers were also offered for his wife and children and afterward, the beneficiaries were called one after the other to receive the ‘I Care’ bags of food. In each of the bags were, rice, beans, semovita, gari, tomato pastes, ground pepper, seasonings, tea and other non-perishable items.

Representatives of the local councils in Ikorodu also distributed few items, which included, tin-milk, spaghetti, noodles, etc., to complement the ones already given out by ‘I Care Food Bank’.
