Again, 4 ‘Badoo’ suspects arrested in Igbogbo, Agbowa

Four (4) suspected members of the dreaded ritual cult, ‘BADOO’, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with two separate murder attacks in Igbogbo and Agbowa areas of the state. They have made confessional statements to help the police in their investigations.

Two of the suspects were involved in murder of a pastor of God Parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Victor Kanayo, in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu division on November 26, 2017.

The suspects, Ibrahim Anifowoshe, 22, and Uche Igwe, 22, who reside at Aremu street, Ojota, were paraded along with two other suspected ‘BADOO’ members by the Police during a press conference on December 11, 2017 at the Command Headquarter in Ikeja.

According to report, the suspects had attacked the victim’s house at Lewusu area of Lajo/Offin Community and smashed his head with stones after gaining entrance into his apartment through a cut burglary proof while two big stones, which are trademarks of the deadly gang, were found beside the victim’s body.

The victim’s wife and ten month old baby were also found unconscious at the scene of the incident. The attack reportedly occurred shortly after the State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, held a meeting with security operatives as well as community and religious leaders at the Palace of Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi. At the point of the suspects’ arrest, the phone and sim card of late Victor were recovered from them.

The two other suspects, Abubakar Tenimu and Abdulrasaq Yahaya, were arrested in Ikorodu in connection with the killing of a woman, Beatrice Alaba, and her son, David, at Temu village in Agbowa area of the state.

According to Police report, the criminals gained entrance into the women’s room by carefully removing the louvers in the window and used a concrete stone to smash the victim’s skull. In the course of the Police investigation, which was covert and intensive, the two suspects were arrested and a Nokia phone belonging to the deceased, stolen from the scene of the incident, were recovered from them.

The State Commissioner of Police (CP) was said to have visited the scene of the crime at Temu Village in company of Special Anti-Robbery Squad and other Officers to conduct investigation and search for culprits.
