Publisher’s brother, Moruf, gives out daughter, Dayo in marriage to popular comedian, Aderombi a.k.a Dee-One

These digital days, there are different types, shapes, classes and styles of weddings across the globe.

While there are mega million weddings such as contracted by sons and daughters of wealthy presidents, or multi million naira weddings such as recently witnessed in Alakija’s son, Babandida’s daughter, Amosuns, Ajumobi’s children  etc, there are also the one or two million naira weddings as loud and as excellent as the mega weddings.

Whereas some very fat budget weddings still have lapis in terms of insufficient food, drinks etc. for the large audience, the smaller, much packaged wedding costing less fortunes turn out more preferable.

Oriwu Sun publisher’s younger brother, Moruf (Murphy) Dawodu Olowosago and his inlaws on Thursday October 12, 2017 organised this latter kind of wedding costing a few millions but beautifully and wonderfully packaged to be a mouthwatering event.

The superb wedding for an audience of about hundred (100) in a Cosy hotel in Ikeja was extraordinary. The bride, Adedayo Dawodu Olowosago and her bride groom, a wealthy comedian set the venue of the wedding ablaze with laughter as they shared happiness and joy among the guests.

It was a simple wedding with high taste. It became a gathering of humor merchants as comedians led by Seyi-Law rocked the audience with classical jokes such that there was no single dull moment.

It was a wedding where even the celebrator (the bridegroom) joined his colleagues (fellow comedians) to thrill the audience with humour.

The Olowosago family members were at the party which started at their presence as they complement the efforts and roles of the bridegroom’s family.

Our reporter, Waleola Kolawole, who was at the event completes this story.

The beautiful daughter, Adedayo Dawodu Olowosago that day wedded her heartthrob, a wealthy comedian, Adedayo Aderombi.

Speaking during the ceremony, which took place at Cafe ‘R’, Isaac John Street, Ikeja, Mr. Larry Tenison, the chairman of the occasion, who came home from United Kingdom (U.K) to lead the occasion, advised the newly wedded couple to cherish their new home and build it in the way of the Lord.

According to him, marriage is an institution established by God and that was why Jesus Christ attended the marriage in Cana of Galilee. He counseled the couple to continue with the love they started with no matter what happens in the marriage.

Mr. Tenison explained that showing understanding and compassion for each other would help their marriage. He told them not to underrate God’s factor in all their endeavours and urged everyone to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, pronouncing that rapture would be the last marriage and he would wish that everyone gain eternity. The chairman later prayed for the couple, their parents and all that graced the occasion.

The programme, thereafter, shifted to the cutting of the wedding cake, which was the first assignment performed by the couple, where they fed each other with cake and drinks. There was a toast by all present and a photo session. The features of the day included an exciting comedy show by one of the popular comedians, Seyi-law, who was also the anchor of the event. The venue of the wedding, which was a small one to accommodate guests who came “strictly by invitation”, was lavishly decorated and looked very much like a Presidential banquet. The caliber of personalities at the event would convince any casual observer that it was only for those whom God had blessed financially.

With the entrance of the bride’s father, Alhaji Moruf Olowosago-Dawodu, from the wealthy and famous Olowosago family of Ikorodu, the event began with the holy solemnization of the two Adedayos by Pastor Aniyi. As the families of the couple and their guests honoured Adedayo and Adedayo with a standing ovation, the popular comedian, Seyi-law, supported by the live musical band hired to thrill the guests, spilled out praises and worship songs, which reminded you of paradise on earth.

The songs ushered in the bride, whose left hand was firmly held by her father, Alhaji Moruf Dawodu Olowosago. She was dressed in a butter colour wedding gown blended with designs. Her father appeared in a cream-coloured native lace. The chief bride’s maid was also glowingly conspicuous in wine gown. As they walked majestically and resplendently into a hall filled beyond its capacity, they headed straight to where the Pastor, the groom, whose blue suit matched with black bow tie, and the Best Man, who appeared in the same manner, had been waiting to receive the bride.

It was an occasion laden with excitement, love and joy as Alhaji Moruf released his daughter’s hand into the waiting Pastor’s right hand, who immediately transferred the beautiful hand to the groom. Their exchange of vows and blessings by the officiating pastor took place and consequently, the pronouncement of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Aderombi as husband and wife. With joy ecstasy and praises to God for a day like this, the couple later stepped out with the hope of re-emerging few minutes later for the reception programme.

By the time the bride’s parents were called in for the reception, trust the Olowosagos; they were fully on ground and ready to do their best. They cheered the bride’s parents with different currency notes as they danced happily back to their reserved seats. The Aderombi’s guests did not hide their feelings of joy as they joined the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aderombi on the dance floor and doled out money continuously until they took their seats. Dancing and money spraying, including merriment, continued unabated till night and those, who witnessed the ceremony, described it as a memorable and well-planned event.

It was a full plate for Alhaji Moruf Dawodu-Olowosago because on Sunday, October 15, 2017, three days after the Thursday event, his son Bolarinwa got married to a beautiful lady in Maryland, Lagos and the Olowosagos as usual did not disappoint as they proved their worth once more.

During the vote of thanks, the groom, Mr. Aderombi Adedayo, thanked his parents, whom he described as London based couple, who would eventually return to London after the event. He also expressed gratitude to his parents-in law and everybody that contributed in one way or the other towards making the historic events a success. He prayed for journey mercies for all of them as they go back to their various destination.

Comedians that graced the occasion included Seyi-Law, Omo Baba, Number One, among others.
