Fear grips Imowo-Nla landlords as court orders Tajudeen Olusola Rabiu (a.k.a T.J) to take possession of a 980 plots

Landlords in the suburb of Imowo Nla village, Ikorodu, Lagos State are presently living in fear as the High Court of Lagos State orders repossession of Nine hundred and eight plots of Land in the community. Sheriff Assistants from the Lagos State High Court stormed the community on Friday, March 31, 2017, accompanied by armed policemen from zone 2 police division, Onikan area of Lagos State.

The land, which forms part of the 980 plots of land within the Ifegbuwa family estate at Imowo Nla village, Ikorodu, was adjudged to belong to Alhaji Tajuden Olusola Rabiu by the virtue of the judgement delivered by Honourable Justice H.A.O Abiru on October 12, 2009 in suit no IKD/M/18/2009 between Alhaji Tajudeen Olusola Rabiu Vs Chief Isiaka Aborishade and three (3) others. The judgement was confirmed by the court of appeal in the judgement delivered by their  Lordships Joseph Shagbaor Ikyegh, Tijani Abubakar and Jamilu Yamamma Tukur, Justices of Court of appeal, Lagos on March 11, 2016 in appeal No CA/L/998/2010 between Chief Isiaka Aborishade and another Vs Alhaji Tajudeen Olusola Rabiu and two others.

It was observed that some persons, including the present occupiers, encroached upon the said land while the above cases were pending in court and began to erect illegal structures there without the consent and authority of its rightful owner. They and continued to deny him of access and use of his land without any justifiable reason since then till date.

However, a formal notice was given to the squatters and trespassers as well as members of the public, who do not acquire interest, right and estate over the portion of the said land, which they presently occupy, from Alhaji Tajudeen Olusola Rabiu “That they do not have right to remain on the land. All trespassers are hereby warned to steer clear of the land aforesaid in their own interest.”
