On the August 24, 2019, the London trained engineer Moshood Olabisi Kaffo, marked his 80th birthday with family and close friends in a modest way. Since his return from London decades ago, Alhaji Moshood Kaffo has been an avid reader of the Oriwu Sun newspaper and has never hide his candid feelings nor denied his interest in the community press.
After receiving professional training and certified as engineer in England, he returned to Nigeria and practiced at the defunct Construction One Nigeria Limited. Respected and loved in his community, Kafo has never stopped being a supporter of progress and development of the society.
Though his 80th birthday means a lot to him and his loved ones, the octogenarian celebrated the event on a low key. In company of his immediate family members, bosom friends, associates of Ire-Akari, Unique Club, and some socialites, the celebration was marked in a modest setting.
The cozy atmosphere of love and filial support was felt by everyone who stayed with him. Though his family members were ready to blow trumpet and spread the flavour in the air, he preferred a more discreet celebration with loved ones.
Alhaji Moshood Kaffo is a religious man and a true devote Muslim who has been honoured at various central mosques in the society. Some of the deserving titles bestowed on him include: Alatilehin Adini; Alasalatu of Agbaye Central Mosque, the public mosque owned by his late bosom friend, Alhaji Musediku Alogba- founder of Construction One Nigeria Limited. He also enjoy the title of Balogun Adini of Irepodun Mosque, Anibaba Ikorodu.
A modest event kicked up in the morning in his honour and lasted for hours with warm prayers, blessing by well-wishers and gifts exchanging hands. Light musical entertainment and assorted food was served to all. The event ended late in the evening on that day.
We wish him a Happy Birthday and many more celebration ahead.
