It is no longer news that the Govnor Babjide Sanwo-Olu was in Ikorodu last November to commission the 480 units block of flats in ibeshe as part of the Lagoshoms initiative. The estate was named after the late Asiwaju of Ikorodu, Babatunde Olushola Benson. The newly commissioned scheme is situated opposite Nichemtex factory, Ibeshe Road, Igbogbo – Baiyeku LCDA, on a land area of 15 hectares.
The project comprises 40 blocks of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three bedrooms apartments, with fully fitted kitchen, store and guest toilets.
The estate also has ample space for parking, a water treatment plant, overhead water tanks, borehole, central sewage system, seven transformers, one injection station and two dumpsites, as well as buildings for generator house and central hall.
The reason why ikorodu people should be grateful is that our compassionate governor slashed the prices for these housing units to make them to be easily affordable.
Oriwusun gathered that the governor in his magnanimity reduced the price of one bedroom flat to N5,000,000.00 (Five Million Naira), the two bedroom flat is now going for N8,500,000.00 (Eight Million five hundred thousand) while the three bedroom goes for a mere N13,500,000.00 (Thirteen million five hundred thousand naira).
The exquisite taste and furnishing of the housing units shows that the prices for such homes go for as much as twice the amount that the Governor directed the housing units to be sold for. It was gathered that the governor said that since Ikorodu is close to his heart, he wanted the homes to be as affordable as possible, little wonder that the entire units have already been sold out.
