Who owns these abandoned buildings, now turned abode for ritualists?

Who owns this house? This was a big question the residents along Itoikin Road kept asking on Friday, March 31, 2017, when they apprehended a man living inside an uncompleted building behind ……. Petrol station.

The residents told Oriwu Sun that the man had been living there for almost a year without anyone suspecting him. However, he was arrested on Friday, March 31, 2017, when an Onyabo security man, who was keeping vigil at the petrol station, noticed the unusual movement of the man and arrested him around 2:00pm.

The man followed the suspect to the uncompleted building, only to find different ritual items like pot, knives, women’s clothing, etc. When he questioned the man, he could not explain his mission at the uncompleted building.

As the vigilante team followed him to get more details, he escaped through the backyard of the building into another street. The vigilante quickly informed their group about what happened and more than five of them came in with their leader, Chief Kamorudeen Bombata.

After a thorough search, they detected a big well inside the building. They could not identify whether corpses or humans were inside the well. Residents said they suspected that he might have been using it for rituals as ladies dresses were scattered inside the building.

A food seller around the area said that she had been seeing the man without knowing his mission until he was arrested. The residents around the area are asking the government to search the buildings properly as they suspect that corpse might have been dumped inside the well.

They want further probes and probably the sealing off of the building by the state government
