We’ll sustain this mansion and his legacy – Says wife

Looking at the massive compound of the late industrialist, Chief Rasheed Abiodun Gbadamosi, OFR, one will no doubt conclude that he is a man of great taste.
Not many Nigerians have gone to Aso Rock (the Presidential Lodge of Nigerian Presidents), but Gbadamosi palace is like Aso Rock.
A magnificent white house sits elegantly at the centre of about 12 plots of land. By the right side is a conference centre/offices while by the left of the compound is the Arts Gallery.
An economist, who became a prolific writer, poet, playwright and industrialist, Late Rasheed Gbadamosi was a notable art collector and appreciator of museum objects.
He maintains a huge garden/orchard that has luxury green fields and well pruned trees for shelter.
Oriwu Sun asked the late icon three years ago during an art exhibition in honour of Yusuf Grillo if his children would be able to sustain his love for arts and artefacts and if they could maintain the wonderful gallery and beautiful compound he had established.
He said he was not bothered about what his children or family will do with the place if he was no more. But his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Tinuade Gbadamosi told Oriwu Sun as she mourned her husband’s death that by God’s grace the family would have no problem maintaining the legacy of the icon and sustaining the beautiful structures he had put in place.
She confirmed as Hon. Gbolahan did at the gallery, that the last child of the late industrialist is highly interested in the arts and in her late father’s passion for nature.
Mrs. Gbadamosi said that this daughter from her primary school had been interested in fine arts and is today a graphic artists.
Asked to describe her husband and his legacy, Mrs. Gbadamosi said he was a philanthropist, a family lover, a caring father and a generous person.
