The Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Education District III, Barrister (Mrs.) Margaret Solarin, along with her counterpart from District II, Mr. Olaniyi Yinka Gbemi, and two other retired TG/PS, Mrs. Adebimpe Carena and Mrs. Ajibike Ogunsanwo, have commended a former cleaner, Mrs. Funmilayo Awokoya for her exemplary service.
While urging other workers to be diligent, dedicated, loyal and committed on Thursday, August 31, 2017, during the retirement ceremony of Mrs. Awokoya, which took place at the Education District II, Maryland, Lagos, Mrs. Solarin and her colleagues said workers should emulate her good example.
According to Solarin, although, the retiree was a cleaner, she was very humble, and well-behaved, which was the reason two Tutor Generals and two retired ones graced her retirement ceremony and contributed money to buy her a befitting gift.
To Mr. Olaniyi Gbemi, the retiree was diligent, upright, punctual, well-behaved and disciplined, and all workers, regardless of their levels and where they work, should emulate her. Mrs. Adebimpe Careena described her as a reliable person while Mrs. Ajibike Ogunsanwo described her as a woman of integrity, who she enjoyed her services. They both advised Civil Servants in Lagos State to render exemplary services and be disciplined in their duty posts.
The serving Tutor-Generals and the retired ones later presented a big deep Freezer to the retired cleaner, who was full of appreciation for her former Bosses and the district staff. According to her, she enjoyed working with Lagos State Government. She said in spite of challenges, a worker needs to be diligent and loyal to constituted authorities.
