Mr. Tokunbo Abiru, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged the Senator-elect for the Lagos East Senatorial District after his landslide victory in the bye-election held on Saturday, December 5, 2020.
The Ikorodu indigene, who was a former Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Polaris bank Plc and former Commissioner for Finance in the State, polled 89,204 votes to defeat his closest rival, who is also an Ikorodu indigene and the candidate of the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi who got 11,257 votes.
