Remi Tinubu’s solution in poverty alleviation saves thousands

1 The two term Senator for Lagos Central zone and wife of the national leader of All Progressives Congress, Mrs. Remi Tinubu is no doubt putting smiles on the faces of her constituency members and making them proud of the mandate they have given her in two national elections.

Initially, some people had thought that she will go to the national  assembly as a bench warmer or ‘on-looker,’ but to their surprise, Senator Remi Tinubu has been making waves both in Abuja and in her home state, Lagos.

Those of us conversant with this former first lady of Lagos State know that she has tremendous interest in the masses just as her husband, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The couple continue to spend their money to help many poor people by putting foods on their tables.

Whereas many national legislators pocket the money allocated for their constituencies bringing out at best only peanuts, Senator Remi has been investing heavily in her people and coming around frequently to give stewardship account to the electorate.

No wonder God is blessing her and her husband not only with good health and life but also protection from their enemies.

2Seventeen times, Senator Remi has organised fora to give reports of her activities in Abuja on behalf of the citizens/residents of Lagos Central District she represents in the Senate. In each of these editions, she showered gifts and other incentives especially to the less privileged to alleviate their poverty thus saving many lives.

This newspaper captured live, the 17th outing of this female Senator which was not only interesting but unique. Senator Tinubu invited the Oba of Lagos, His Majesty Oba Rilwan Akiolu, her fellow national assembly members, notable politicians at the state and national levels among others to grace the occasion. She gave out material and financial gift including Keke Marwa, cash and other equipment to empower members of her zone.

Both the giver and the takers exploded with joy.

The smiles on the faces of Remi and the recipients of her kind gesture can infect anyone. Even our ace reporter/camera man Wale Kolawole who covered the event was not spared of the smile, the joy and the prayers the masses poured on the Senator.

Enjoy these visuals.
