The former and immediate past Chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) and former Commissioner for Local Government in Lagos State, Otunba Adekunle Oyebola, on Saturday, August 19, 2017, celebrated his 80th birthday in grand style.
The birthday party tagged, “Praise Reception”, which took place at Ikorodu Musical Village, came after the “Praise Worship” get together, which had earlier taken place at Celestial Church of Christ, Horeb Cathedral ( IKEJA 2) on Sunday, August 13, 2017. It had numerous church leaders and congregation, including the guests of the celebrant, holding thanksgiving service in his honour.
While speaking during the occasion, the celebrant’s wife, Olori Olushola Oyebola, a former banker, described her husband as a wonderful, caring, loving and understanding man, who showers love on everybody including his children. Mrs. Olushola Oyebola, therefore, wished her husband more prosperous years in good health while also asking God to bestow him with more blessings. She also advised people, who want to attain old age, to plead for God’s grace and favour as well as faith in him.
The celebrant, Otunba Adekunle Oyebola, is a Chartered Accountant, who studied in Nigeria and abroad. He worked in several banks including UBA, Union Bank, First Bank and others. He later had his own company, through which he engaged in construction, business administration and consultancy services. Oyebola is also a Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), and a Member of Scholarship Board, Lagos State. He is a devoted Christian, a community leader, an elder statesman and a responsible father and grandfather.
Earlier on, an opening prayer, said by Most Superior Evangelist Oyegbemi, heralded the commencement of the event, which witnessed tributes and encomiums showered on the celebrant from well-wishers cutting across different organizations like Oriwu Club, Ikorodu; Celestial Church; IKODASS; EKO Boys; Old Students, family and children, among others.
After that, it was time for the cutting of the birthday cake and the celebrant and his beautiful wife were joined by his children, grandchildren, family members, dignitaries and other guests at the event. A toast was made for more 
healthy and prosperous years for the celebrant before he and his wife hit the dance floor to do justice to the gospel songs being dished out from the stable of Evangelist Alade Abiodun, supported by live band musical crew.
During the event, assorted foods and drinks were not in short supply as everyone ate and drank to satisfaction courtesy of Abitop Catering services and other caterers employed by the celebrant.
Dignitaries at the event included Aremo of Ikorodu, Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya; HIS wife, Modupe Ogunsanya (Ayamo); Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye; Former State functionaries and religious leaders, among others.
