This is our reigning Olori, the incumbent Queen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Olori Kudirat Shotobi, a woman of substance enveloped in humility, simplicity and respect.
In the last four years, from her period as Odofin’s wife to ascension to the throne, this newspaper has been watching her roles and carriage in these positions of traditional authority. Unlike some proud Oloris, some of who are wicked, arrogant and unfriendly to the people, we have found out that Olori Kudirat Shotobi is unlike these ones painted above.
In the palace, she is always humble, well comported and quiet as she wonderfully takes good care of her husband, the King. Both Olori and the Kabiyesi are the proud heritage of Ikorodu Kingdom and both of them complement each other.
One thing that is a no-go-area for the Olori is for any woman to play around her husband, the King. Do you blame her? When there are wolves in sheep’s skin very much around, looking for who to snatch away and devour. Look at this Queen, everywhere you see her, she is a symbol of dignity as an African queen. She dresses responsibly and carries herself with great poise and gait.
By all standards, she is a pretty lady, with an attractive framework. In her eye glasses, she looks like the Chief Executive of a multinational company. Sometimes, you may mistake her for the former World Bank boss who became two time Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. No wonder she is adored by Ikorodu people who have labelled her “The Treasure of Ikorodu kingdom.”
