Oba Shotobi thanks Gov Sanwo-Olu over Kaoli’s daughter’s appointment as acting commissioner

The Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, has thanked the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on the elevation of Abisola Ruth Olusanya as the acting commissioner for Agriculture.

He expressed the appreciation in a letter dated 5th of June, 2020, and personally signed by him.

In the letter, the monarch described the elevation of Abisola Ruth Olusanya from a Special Adviser to acting commissioner as a joy to the people of Ikorodu Division.

He also assured the governor that Abisola will not take the appointment for granted, adding that all the Obas in the division can testify to her humility, excellent representation and diligence.

Oba Shotobi equally stated that the youth groups and All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ikorodu division are also pleased with Abisola’s service to the state.

“All the Obas in Ikorodu division can testify to her humility, excellent representation and diligence: Recently, she toured all the Oba palaces to pay homage and deliver Covid-19 palliatives herself.

“On behalf of all stakeholders in Ikorodu division, I wish to express our deep appreciation and gratitude for the confidence you have in our daughter to bestow on her a higher level responsibility. By the grace of God, she will not disappoint or take things for granted,” Oba Shotobi assured.

Abisola Ruth Olusanya, the daughter of Asipa Kaoli Olusanya who is the APC Vice Chairman, Lagos East Senatorial District and the former Commissioner for Agriculture in the state, was appointed as the Special Adviser for Agriculture by Governor Sanwo-Olu last year.

Her elevation to the acting Commissioner position was announced on Friday, June 5, 2020, following the resignation of the former Commissioner for Agriculture, Prince Gbolahun Lawal, after he emerged and confirmed as the Oniru-elect by the Lagos State Executive Council.

Abisola Ruth Olusanya had about 10 years of her professional experience in leadership roles in Sales and Marketing and Supply chain management, executing strategies towards food security, SME inclusion, growth and profitability within a sustainable ecosystem.

She is a leader with participative management style and proficiency in establishing and managing entire operations with key focus on a sustainable organizational culture.

The new acting commissioner bagged Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the Prestigious University of Lagos in 2006 and Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Lagos Business School in 2011.

She joined Olam International, one of the world’s largest food and Agric supply chain companies, in 2011 under  the company’s West African Management Training Program, where her immediate stellar performances propelled her to senior management level by end of 2014.

Her work included leading sales, marketing and supply chain operations for one of the largest business segments in Olam (Ghana) was provided her with extensive industry and international exposure to trading which has enabled a broad global mindset as a result of working with Mozambique, Cameroun Vietnam, Thailand, India, UAE, and Singapore. Before joining Olam, Abisola had a two year stint in the building and construction industry
