An elaborate dinner was organized for Dr. Robert Brown, Oba Shotobi’s longtime friend and Mentor, who flew into Ikorodu with his wife. It was hosted on Wednesday courtesy of Oba Shotobi’s wife, Olori Kudirat and Asipa Kaoli Olusanya to honour Dr. Brown.
Oba Shotobi, while introducing his godfather, Dr. Brown said he was his benefactor who wholeheartedly cared for him when he was younger and had nobody to sponsor his education. He showered encomiums on Dr. Brown and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Bailey Joy Brown for showing love to him, his family and the people of Ikorodu by gracing the occasion of his third year Anniversary.
Oba Shotobi’s sons, Princes Adeniyi and Obadimeji also shared their experiences following what they heard about Dr. Brown from their parents. In his short remarks, the Pillar of Ikorodu kingdom Chief (Dr.) Robert Brown revealed that he took the young Adewale Shotobi to America and sponsored his education because he had seen brilliance, humility and politeness in him. He expressed his love for Nigerian and said that since Oba Shotobi had become a King, his love for Nigeria would continue to grow and Ikorodu would feel it most.
