Whereas, the Nassarawa United skipper insists they cannot afford to drop points against relegation-threatened Ikorodu United
Emmanuel Makama is confident of registering a win at the expense of beleaguered Ikorodu United when the two sides meet in a potential thriller on Saturday.
Kick-off for the match day 28 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game, scheduled for the Onikan Stadium, is 4pm.
The skipper of the Lafia-based outfit said that his team played well in their 3-0 rout of Sunshine Stars last weekend.
“It is going to be very tough, as we are playing against a side that is on the brink of relegation,” Makama told Goal.
“We spoke among ourselves on Saturday after the win over Sunshine Stars, that we must consolidate against Ikorodu United.
“We know that we cannot afford to drop points in Lagos as that will spell an end to our ambition of ending the season on a high.
“Ikorodu United will also not be easy, as they will be looking to bounce back at our expense after failing to record a win in their last seven games.
“We have always played well in league matches and this one won’t be an exception.”
The Solid Miners will be hoping to complete yet another double against the Oga Boys this season, after beating them at the Aper Aku Stadium in the first stanza.
