80 year old women killed by cultist at Ketu

The shock waves of murder of innocent people of Agbede area in Ikorodu, Lagos state in last two months are yet to die down when cult-war erupted again in the same area, leading to the death of 14 residents while several others injured.

The incident which occurred on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, cultists reportedly stormed Agbede area, Ikorodu killing and inflicted injuries on the residents.

According to a reliable source, the attack, which happened on the fateful day at about 3:00a.m was by supremacy battle among rival cults in the area. Policemen from Ikorodu were said to have arrived at the scene to remove the corpses and took the injured ones to the hospital, while efforts to arrest the hoodlums reportedly failed.

On Friday, July 12, 2019 the cultists who disguised as Muslim clerics again entered Mrs. Ramota Owoade’s house at Alhaji Owoade Street, Alapere, Ketu pretended to offer prayer for Mrs. Owoade but later demanded where about of her son, Akeem Owoade and his children. The refusal of Mrs. Owoade led her be rough handled by the cultists and was unconscious.

A resident, Mr. Akanji Alabelewe told Oriwu Sun that the cultists fled hoping the woman had died. She was later rushed to the hospital after the cultists left but later died two weeks after.

According to the family source, the attack on Mrs. Ramota Owoade was due to her son, Akeem Owoade, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Ifesowapo Community Development Association (CDA), Agbede who always against the cultists activities openly in the area.

Another resident, Mr. Adeoluwa Aina, who spoke with Oriwu Sun expressed his dismay over the incessant killings by the cultist and said government had not do anything to avert the killings. He stressed that the fear of going out early to place of work now seems to be a risk taking process. He then appealed to the State and Federal Governments to come to their rescue.

It will be recalled that the cultists chased Mr. Akeem Owoade sometimes ago to kill him but was lucky to escape over his condemnation statements about the cultists.
