A 43 years old man, Mr. Adetayo Ganiyu Adeleke from Obada/Oko Giwa community in Osun State, Nigeria has been declared wanted by the police station in Obada/Oko Giwa Community for homosexual act. Adetayo was arrested on October 26, 2017, in connection with an alleged homosexual act with another man.
According to the report gathered, Adetayo was arrested by the police while having sexual intercourse with his partner (now at large) at an undisclosed hotel in Obada/Oko Giwa community. The arrest was said to have been made possible by a tip off from some residents of Obada/Oko Giwa community.
It was also gathered that Adetayo, in his confessional statements to the police authority, allegedly admitted to his involvement in the unlawful act and that he has a partner who is currently on the run. He was also said to have confessed to being a gay.
Adetayo, however, was granted bail by the police on November 2, 2017, but he’s expected to appear in court on a yet to be determined date.
Moreso, it was learnt that since his arrest and subsequent bail, Adetayo’s life has been under constant threat as residents of Obada/Oko Giwa community now consider him as a bad influence which must be gotten rid off at all cost due to his involvement in an act considered as an abomination in the community.
The hostility and threat to life have now forced Adetayo to relocate temporarily to Lagos state, where he currently live with his mother as he no longer consider himself safe in Obada/Oko Giwa community.
Meanwhile, in an information gathered by Oriwu Sun, after Adetayo released on bail from the police custody and his subsequent temporary relocation to his mother’s place, he was said to have stated that his status as a gay makes him a misfit for any society in Nigeria and that his continuous stay poses a potential danger to his life.
