You are all welcome to the inauguration of Lagos State Ijebu Traditional Rulers Forum. I will like to state that this body was convened and will operate within the scope and authority of Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs under the leadership of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Riliwanu Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu, CFR, DSC (Honoris Causa), LLB, BL, Mni.
I must state that this forum came into being as a result of high level consultation among the traditional rulers in Lagos East Senatorial District with the aim of fostering unity and friendship among its rank and file.
It will also act as a catalyst to accelerate development within their respective areas. Since the inception of the administration of His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos State, the Lagos East Senatorial District has witnessed unparalleled development culminating into increased economic growth recorded within the district.
In Lagos East Senatorial District, some of the projects are the commissioning of Ikorodu road and extension of BRT corridor from CMS to Ikorodu, construction and road expansion in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area, the reconstruction of roads in Epe, Naforija/Poka in Eredo Local Council Development Area, renovation, expansion and upgrading of Jubilee Chalets in Epe town, expansion of Iyana Oworo Bus Stop, Alapere among others.
There are more projects in the pipeline such as the movement of the Mile 12 Market to Imota, the movement of Plank and Timber Market to Ikosi-Ejinrin.
This administration’s developmental efforts are inclusive and every part of the State continues to witness changes and we as royal fathers already envisage that the template to convert every inch of the State soil into prosperity is in gestation.
Whereas many nations of the world succumbed to recession, the State economy stands as one of
Africa’s best.
We believe that His Excellency, being an “omoluwabi” will recite this prelude and will promptly admit it as a clarion call for him to work more towards ensuring that the district in particular and the State in general become land of prosperity.
We believe that the Governor is doing a great job and should be encouraged to seek a second term in office so that he can personally supervise the delivery of these projects and many more.
Based on the afore-mentioned, our body, Lagos State Ijebu Traditional Rulers Forum, all the Obas in Ikorodu and Epe Divisions, Ibeju-Lekki and Langbasa in Lagos State do hereby declare, support and endorse His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Oladapo Ambode, the Executive Governor of Lagos State for a Second Term in office from 2019-2023.
We also hereby call on all our sons, daughters, friends and all residents (who are 18 years and above) of Lagos East Senatorial District to make the re-election of His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Oladapo Ambode a top priority during the forthcoming general elections in 2019.
We want to appeal to them again to go and get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) in readiness for the said elections to be able to renew the MANDATE of His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Oladapo Ambode for a second term in office.
