The G-57 political leaders in Ikorodu division and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a whole got a big applause on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Gbagada General Hospital, where former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Biodun Ogunleye, led some chieftains of the APC to present a cash gift from Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to a faithful member of the party in Ikorodu Central, Mrs. Foluke Falowo, whose leg was recently amputated because of diabetic related injury.
Prince Ogunleye, who was accompanied by the immediate past Executive Secretary of Ikorodu Central, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, and other party chieftains, told the excited patient who had served the APC in her ward C in Ikorodu Central and as a local government Executive member of the party, that the APC through Governor Ambode had demonstrated that it is a party that cares for its members and loyal supporters in their times of need.
Mrs. Falowo, a nurse, said she had hit one of her toes while going somewhere and thought it was a minor injury until it grew into a big problem, necessitating the amputation of the affected leg.
“My leader took it up; they didn’t leave me alone. They assisted me with the little things they had till the time they wrote a letter to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. I thank Governor Ambode for sending me this huge amount of money to take care of myself. I pray that he will have long life in the mighty name of Jesus. I say a big thank you to him in a million times,” she stated.
Prince Ogunleye, who presented the huge cash gift from Ambode, told Oriwu Sun that party members, who were impressed by the woman’s active records, immediately alerted the Majority leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. S. O. B. Agunbiade and Hon. Wasiu Adesina, notified him and the matter was forwarded to Governor Ambode since the local chapter of the APC could not foot the heavy medical bill involved.
According to him, Governor Ambode swiftly responded to this distress call to affirm the reward of faithfulness and loyalty of party men and women.
Hon. Adesina, who confirmed Prince Biodun Ogunleye’s statement, said that Mrs. Falowo’s impressive records in the party attracted a lot of sympathy and empathy for her as APC members said her injury is also an injury for all party.
Hence, many party chieftains and members kept flooding Gbagada General Hospital to show their love, sympathy and support for the female party members.
Other party loyalists, who were present during the presentation, included, Alhaji Badiru Enifeni, Mr. Ayanbade Kehinde, Alhaja Aishat Sulaimon and Alhaja Rasheedat Bello.
