Ijede Obaship Tussle resumes hearing

After several months of delay, the legal battle over the vacant Alajede stool in Ijede area of Ikorodu division resumed for hearing at the Ikorodu high court.

The case which last came up for hearing in March 2016, under Justice M. A. Savage, who has been redeployed to any duty post, resumed for hearing under a new judge, Justice Lawal Akapo, on Monday, January 9, 2017.

At the sitting which had the presence of the two main parties to the suit number IKD/82/2013, Prince Saheed Hassan (Defendant) and Prince Kazeem Amusa (Claimant/Applicant) and their family members from the Dada Eko Royal family and Idowu Ajanaku Royal family of Ijede respectively, Justice Akapo granted the two applications filed by the applicants for joinder and amendment.

The applicants through their counsel had in the first application sought for the joinder of Chief Adedayo Aba Ajanaku, the head of Ajanaku ruling house and Pa Adetunji Adenuga, the secretary of the ruling house as 6th and 7th defendants in the suit.

In the second application, the applicants sought to consolidate their applications into one for the purpose of the matter.

The judge after listening to the presentation of the applications by the counsel to the applicants granted the prayers and adjourned the case to February 15, 2017.
