Ijebu Oba’s Commiserate with Deputy Governor Hamzat

A high powered delegation of representatives of Ijebu Obas stormed Afowowa Sogade Community in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State to witness the burial of the father of the incoming deputy governor of Lagos State, Mr. Obafemi Hamzat.
The late father of the new Deputy Governor, His Royal Highness Dr. Muftau Olatunji Hamzat, was the Olu of Afowowa Sogade Kindgom. He died on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the age of 66.
The late Oba was given a befitting burial on Sunday, May 13, 2019, by powerful delegation, representatives and dignitaries from all walks of life.
The late Oba, who was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his son, the incoming Deputy Governor of Lagos State under APC, attracted eminent politicians from the ruling party in Lagos and the country as a whole.
Because traditionally, Obas are not expected to see corpses, not even of their members, Ijebu Obas had to send high powered delegation to represent them with their various staffs of office, the symbols of their authority.
These representatives made a stopover at the palace of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi to brief him on their outing.

They told the Oba of Ikorodu that their trip to Ogun State was successful and that they were received, well recognized and well entertained at Ewekoro.
These photos were taken at the Ayangbure palace by the representatives who radiated joy for a trip well made.
