Igbo community shows respect, honours Oba Shotobi, presents gift

The welfare arm of the Igbo Community in Ikorodu saddled with the responsibility of everyday administration of the community paid a warm homage to Oba Kabiru Shotobi on Saturday, November 18, 2017, to mark the grand finale of this year’s Oga Day Celebration.

Led by the Caretaker Chairman of the Igbo General Assembly in the division, Chief G.O.C Emeahu, Igbo Chiefs, Ezes and their wives and other members of I.G.A graced the colourful occasion at the Ayangbure palace.

Accompanied by Igba Eze (Royal Drums) they (the Igbos) joined other communities and groups, to show respect and honour to His Majesty Oba Shotobi and IKODASS.

They danced from Ojubode to the Oba’s palace and presented gifts as well as a goodwill message in which they expressed appreciation on the harmonious relationship between Igbos and Ikorodu people, pledging to continue to play their part in the development of this great town and promotion of peace therein.

Among the leaders at the event were: Eze Laz Okeke, Eze Livinus Enwemenadu Eze Ofodile Nwajei, Chief Simeon Ume, Chief Ameachi, Chief Inno Ndebillie, Mazi Chuma Adichie, Chief H. Nwode, Chief Mbonu, Mazi Emeka Onwujiobi, Chief Ibe Onyike, Chief Soki, Okey Niger among others.
