Unless Governor Ambode changes his mind, there is the likelihood that the Governor may drop four or five commissioners from his cabinet and move some commissioners around.
Informed sources told Oriwu Sun that some of these commissioners are loyal to him but are not competent in their jobs, having worked with him for almost two years. Sources in government told Oriwu Sun that the Governor would have done the re-shufflement earlier on but changed his mind because he likes taking people by surprise.
There is already panic among the commissioners as during every Exco meetings, they are not sure whom the axe would fall on. You would recall that last year, when the Governor dropped two commissioners, he only told the commissioners after the Exco meeting that they should expect changes. Meanwhile, this time around, as they were stepping out of the Exco meeting, they saw the announcement of three sacked commissioners, including that of Transportation headed by DayoMaberiola; Toursim headed by Folarin Coker and Mr. ………………… for Ministry of Finance. Our sources refuses to give the name of those to be affected, Oriwu Sun got the name from those who should know.
Among commissioners likely to be affected are those who have stayed long on the job for more than four years and who maybe nursing various ambitions. Others include those who are pompous and feel too big to take orders from the governor.
Meanwhile, the resilient and hardworking Governor continues to run his government without letting the issues affect him. There is also likelihood that the names of new board members may be released before the next local government election. The source also told Oriwu Sun that there is likely going to be changes in the party’s leadership, which may give way to a new person before the next election.
