The amiable governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode who has never hidden his love for Ikorodu people again demonstrated this affection on Saturday, November 18, at the grand finale of the 2017 Oga Day celebration when he gave a handsome donation never done by any past governor to support development efforts in Ikorodu community.
Though, he could not come in person, he sent a high powered delegation of two serving commissioners – Hon. Rotimi Ogunleye, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives and Hon. Muslim Folami of Ministry of Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs to represent him at the occasion.
In his goodwill message, he rejoiced with Ikorodu people on this festival of their culture/tradition and pledged to help Ikorodu to overcome its security challenges and other development issues in order to promote them in the affairs of the state. He assured the community that his administration will not forget them in terms of capital projects in the coming years.
He urged the residents of Ikorodu to be extra security conscious in order to avoid a repeat of past ugly events. The Governor also advised the people to ensure peace and promote harmony in order to take their town to greater heights.
The governor’s representation, his goodwill message and his support for the event were well appreciated by Oba Shotobi, IKODASS and the entire community.
