The Managing Director of Primero Transport Services, Mr. Fola Tinubu, has revealed that the Blue line Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) now have internet access (WiFi) through which passengers can now surf the internet.
Speaking to journalists on May 8, 2017, at the campany’s headquaters, Majidun, Ikorodu while conducting them on a facility tour of various units and departments within the organization, the Managing Director said that very soon, the buses would have the softwares installed in them.
Inside the bus, he showed the journalists available facilities, which passengers enjoy.
His words, “We are always concerned about cleanliness and service. Our buses have full air-conditioners and BRT T.V for relaxation during the journey. We are also putting free wi-fi on all our buses now. All these are done to add value to the money Lagosians are paying.”
Mr. Tinubu also took them to the warehouse, a place he described as the lifeblood of the organization, where different kinds of newly imported spare parts were housed orderly in case there is need for replacement and repair works.
Biometrics, which the company uses to keep track of all its drivers, were also seen in another unit within the organization. The chemical, electrical, air conditioner, body work spraying and tyre sections were also shown to the journalists.
Speaking further, Mr. Tinubu revealed that long queues at the Bus terminal would soon be history. He said this would be made possible with the introduction of a mobile APP with which people can check the buses’ operations (arrival and departure times) on their phones.
He also promised a media display at the terminal, through which operational activities shall be stated. The Managing Director urged the people to keep on patronizing the buses, saying that Primero would make life easier and better for Lagosians through standard and first class services.
Also in his words, “Our goal is to change the face of transportation in Nigeria. We are believing in God that by the time the Lagos State Government approves Abule-Egba to Oshodi axis, we will bid for it. If transportation functions well, it would enhance and make businesses easier and better.”
Earlier on, in the M.D’s office, the Special Adviser on Community and Communications, Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan, who led the journalists, told Tinubu about the purpose of the facility visit, which was to get the community dwellers informed about every activity in the state.
He explained further that the questions being asked about Primero and his operations prompted the journalists to pay the fact finding visit. After series of questions from the journalists, the visit ended with a photo-session.
