High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN, the Odofin of Ikorodu, recently lost his brother. The 62 year-old deceased, Mr. Tajudeen Ademefun Ogunsanya, died on Saturday, November 13, 2021 after a prolong illness and was buried the following day according to Islamic rites.
Immediately his death was announced, a stream of sympathisers which included prominent individuals in Ikorodu, Lagos State and beyond started trooping to the Itasin residence of their late father to pay their condolences to the bereaved family.
Also, traditional rulers who are forbid to see the dead by tradition, sent their staff of office and emissaries to condole with the Odofin and his family.
Among these Obas are Oba Kabiru Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Abdul-Semiu Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Bashirr Sotonwa, Sekumade of Ipakodo and Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi, Ologijo of Ogijo where Odofin Ogunsanya holds the title of Baba-Oba.
At the 8-day Fidau prayer organized by the family and anchored by the Anwar-ul-Islam society, prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased’s soul and the family he left behind.
