Eiye, Aiye groups renounce cultism in Igbogbo… Oba Kasali donates cash gifts

The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali (Ewogoriade) and the Odofin of Igbogbo, Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, have commended more than one hundred members of Eiye, and Aiye cult groups, who renounced their membership on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Iledi Osugbo and Adeboruwa Palace in Igbogbo.
In their separate addresses, Oba Kasali and Chief Onasanya said that the decision of the cultists to renounce their membership was a step in the right direction. They implored them to stand by their decisions and stay away from cult activities and other criminal acts in order not to truncate the peace, which their renouncement would engender in Igbogbo and its environs. In his appreciation of their decision to eschew cultism and other crimes, Oba Kasali presented cash gifts to the two groups to cover their refreshments and expenses at the event.
The cult members were led by their leaders to the Osugbo cult, where they had a closed door meeting with the Osugbo members and other traditionalist in Igbogbo. It was gathered that during the meeting, they were made to swear to an oath by the Osugbo never to engage in cultism and other crimes after renouncing their membership.
After the Iledi Osugbo session, ‘the converts’ were led by members of the Osugbo to the Adeboruwa palace, where they were received and addressed by the Oba and his Chiefs.
