Commendation, Prayer Galore As Jimi Benson Flags Off Construction Of 3.3Km Mowo Nla Road

Less than 48 hours after assuring his constituents of more impactful projects after his overwhelming endorsement for a record fourth term by leaders and members of his party, during his quarterly townhall meeting, the performing representative of the lkorodu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Benson, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, lived up to that promise with the flag off of the construction of the Mowo Nla road in Ward G area of lkorodu Local Government.
The construction of the 3.3km road, which will connect Mowo Nla, Bagidan, Gberigbe Enu Owa, Igbodu, Jajo, Shonle, Magbon and several other communities along that axis, would include drainages and streetlights, while the completion date has been set by the contractor for April this year.
The road, when completed, would not only facilitate seamless movement in and out of the axis, but also opens up the area to businesses and social life, connects it to other nearby communities and ease the hardship residents and road users usually faced while plying the road, especially during the raining season.

It was yet another moment of well deserved honour for Rep. Babajimi Benson, as residents, including market women and men, executives and members of Community Development Associations, leaders and members of the National Union of Road Transport Union (NURTW), youths, students, Igbo community and several others in Mowo Nla community and other beneficiary communiyies came out enmasse to give their beloved representative an heroic welcome in appreciation of his resolve to facilitate the construction of the road to enhance the development and living standards of people in the area.
The third term federal lawmaker was accompanied by a large entourage which included Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), his iCare team, state assembly members from lkorodu, past and present council chairmen and several notable personalities.
At the event, representatives of Mowo Nla community and party leaders took turns to offer commendations, praises and prayers for Rep. Babajimi Benson, for facilitating the reconstruction of the AP-Mowo Nla-Bagidan-Gberigbe Enu Owa road, and also for his people-centric representation.
Opening the floodgates of commendations, praises and prayers for the Rep. Babajimi Benson, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, Prince Adedayo Ladega, Chairman, lkorodu Local government, described Rep. Benson as a true leader who is always passionate about giving back to his people.
He thanked him for giving him and Baales in Mowo Nla axis listening ears when they visited him to request his intervention for the reconstruction of the road.
Prince Ladega also assured that his administration would provide necessary interventions in the secondary school in Mowo Nla community, to make it functional maximally so as to prevent children in the community from attending schools in far places.
The APC Secretary in Lagos State, Hon Adeola Jokomba, speaking briefly on behalf of the state chairman of the party, lauded Rep. Benson for his impressive performance, stating that he has constructed more roads in lkorodu division, than any Governor in the State.
He urged the residents of Mowo Nla community and surrounding areas and the entire lkorodu division, to continue to support Rep Benson and APC, by participating in the ongoing e-membership registration exercise in order to maintain lkorodu’s first position in the exercise.
The state’s party scribe also disclosed that the State APC Chairman is proud of Rep. Benson.
” The party chairman said he’s very proud of you. He specifically said that l should say this.
“Please, record this. The state Chairman of APC, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi said he is very proud of our House of Representatives member. God bless you sir”.
Chief Adebayo Awomodu, Baale Gberigbe Enu Owa community, thanked the lawmaker for hearkened the demand of residents for the reconstruction of the road, while praying for his success in all his endeavors.
Chief Olawale Kazeem, the Chairman of Bagidan community who spoke on behalf of the six CDAs in the axis, equally thanked Rep. Babajimi Benson for facilitating the road reconstruction, while he also made passionate appeal for the construction of toilets in the secondary school in Mowo Nla community, to enable the school takes off in September this year.

Otunba Waliyu Daisi, Chairman, NURTW in lkorodu,,while speaking on behalf of the road union in Mowo Nla axis, said that Rep. Benson’s gesture regarding the reconstruction of the AP-Mowo Nla-Bagidan- Gberigbe Enu Owa road is commendable, though not surprising to him, because that has been his usual act since his emergence as the representative of the lkorodu Federal Constituency.
He, therefore, called for collective efforts of the entire people of lkorodu division, in ensuring that the lawmaker becomes the Governor of Lagos State, expressing confidence that he would do more for the division when he gets to such oval office.
The duo of lkorodu Constituency l and ll in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Gbolahan Ogunleye and Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) respectively, in their respective remarks, commended the foresight of President Bola Tinubu in supporting the emergence of Rep Benson as representative of lkorodu, stating that he has performed creditably well.
They also appealed for more participation in the APC’s e-membership registration exercise, while Hon Abiodun asked those having issues with their National Identity Number (NIN) to register at their respective registration centres, so that the issues could be addressed through intervention provided by Rep Benson.
A foreign expatriate, Mrs Tylia lkhalia who co-own a popular event centre, TNT Event Centre, in Mowo Nla, in her remarks, described Rep Benson as a leader who makes things happen, and a different kind of politician who listens to people’s plight and takes actions.
She added that the road reconstruction will boost their business.
” Honorable Babajimi Benson, on behalf of this community, we welcome you. We aren’t just happy to see this road; we are happy to see the leader who made it happen.
” You are different because you actually listen. You heard our cries, you took actions and today, we are standing on the proof. This road changes everything for our movement and our peace of mind.
” On a personal note, my husband, the CEO of TNT Event Place, and I, are so thrilled. Representing him and the entire TNT family l want to say a huge thank you.
” This will truly boost our business, and bring joy to our patrons.
“Thank you for being a man of your word. We truly appreciate you. God bless you”.
In the same vein, Chief Bob Andeh,President, Nwannedinamba Igbo Union, Mowo Nla chapter, speaking on behalf of the members of the union when they filed out to pay homage to Rep Benson whom they described ‘Mr Project ‘, thanked the lawmaker for the reconstruction of the AP-Mowo Nla-Bagidan-Gberigbe Enu Owa road, stating that the union had equally made several efforts to make the road motorable for residents and motorists.
He said that the lawmaker’s gesture shows that he’s actually representing the people of lkorodu, very well in the House of Representatives, and announced that the entire members of the Nwannedinamba Union whom he said were formerly apolitical, would join APC, courtesy of Rep Benson’s performance.
Meanwhile, Rep Babajimi Benson, addressing the gathering, said that he would always be grateful to the people of lkorodu, for choosing him among many others, to represent them in the House of Representatives.
He particularly apologised to the people of Mowo Nla axis, that the his intervention in reconstructing their road was coming late, stating that the fact that they had the second largest votes in lkorodu in the last Presidential election, made them deserving of the road project, and urged them and entire lkorodu people to participate in the ongoing APC e-membership registration and improve their voting strength to attract more projects.
Rep. Benson assured that the road would have streetlights, and would be completed and commission by May this year, in order to put smiles on the faces of residents, especially owners of the TNT Event Place.

While speaking on the importance of participating in the e-membership registration of the party, and the need for residents to take part, he said:

” The job of the President, the job of the Governor, is to make everybody happy, to protect, and advance your welfare. But if you belong to a political party in government, you should also enjoy some privileges. Those privileges can giving or granted to you if the party has you on its database electronically”.
“However, if our party, at the national or state or local government level, after taken care of the generality of the people, now decides to take care of the party members, if your name is not on the party’s register electronically, then you should have yourself to blame if you are not considered in that regard “.
The event was brought to a close with a vote of thanks by the councillor representative Ward G area of lkorodu Local Government, Hon. Oshokoya Oladimeji M., after which Rep. Benson led party leaders and other dignitaries to officially flag off the reconstruction of the AP-Mowo Nla-Bagidan-Gberigbe road.
Also present at the flag-off event were Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Otunba Olasunkami Tijani, APC Chairman, Ikorodu division, Otunba Olajide Olukoga, Hon Sunday Benson, Chairman, lmota LCDA, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Director-General, iCare Foundation, Builder Olusesan Daini, former Chairman, Igbogbo-Bayeku LCDA, Chief Mrs Benson, Mr F.O.Lasisi, and Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, APC Chairman, lkorodu Central among others.
