Four illustrious sons of Ikorodu division are among the lucky Nigerians listed to become members of Federal Boards/Parastatals/Agencies in 2018. The recently announced list favoured over 300 persons, who have been assigned to different organs across the country.
Most outstanding in this list from Ikorodu division is Asiwaju Bashorun Olorunfunmi, former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, an astute politician and a community leader. He was appointed to head the National Directorate for Employment, a position that has gladdened the heart of many people in this division as it is hoped to favour the job engagement of many youths from this area.
Another son of Ikorodu, who made this list, is Olasunkanmi Tijani Jimoh (aka T.J.), former Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, who is said to have worked so hard for Ambode’s election as Governor. Some leaders tipped him unsuccessfully to be appointed a Commissioner under Ambode. Now, he seems to have been remembered for his political investments as he was named a member of the Federal Research Institute Ilorin, Kwara State.
The other two Ikorodu sons named in the list are the brother of Abike Dabiri (Rotimi Erogbogbo) and the Personal Assistant of the same Abike during her three terms at the House of Representatives, Mr. Olalekan Ahmed. While Ahmed is to be a member in Lake Chad Basin Authority in Maiduguri, Borno State, Mr. Rotimi Erogbogbo, formerly based in the United States but now firmly rooted in Ikorodu, is to serve as board member of Sheda Science and Technology Complex.
