Another 3 cultists murdered at Ladega, Laketu

While the dust raised by the recent cult attack in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) which claimed over 12 lives is yet to settle down, another attack involving rival cults broke out in Ladega and Laketu areas of Ikorodu on Sunday, February 24, 2020, claiming the lives of three suspected cultists.
According to the report gathered, the deadly attack started around 10:00a.m when suspected members of the Aiye cult group invaded Ladega and allegedly shot two persons who were believed to be members of a rival cult, Eiye.
The attack, which lasted for about one hour threw the entire Ladega, Ojubode and Alhaji Streets into pandemonium as residents and passers-by were forced to run for their dear lives.
Two victims of the attack, simply identified as Fast Money and Eti (nicknames), were both shot in the eyes at a close range by their attackers.
It was also gathered that Fast Money could not be subdued by about eight assailants that attacked him as several attempts made to stab him was unsuccessful as the knives allegedly could not penetrate into his body.
One of his attackers, who was said to be his friend, was however, alleged to have informed others that no weapon can penetrate Fast Money’s body except his head is smatched against an object to bring out blood.
This was said to have been immediately acted upon as Fast Money’s head was smashed on a block before being shot in the eyes at a close range.
A reprisal attack was reported to have immediately been carried out by the members of the Eiye cult group who were alleged to have immediately mobilized themselves and shot a member of the Aiye cult group dead in Laketu around 5:00p.m the same day.
Members of the Onyabo Vigilante Group, Ikorodu, and men of the Nigerian Police were said to have visited the scenes of the attacks to restore peace in the affected areas.
It was also gathered that the family members of one of the victims of the attack have recovered his corpse while the remains of other two victims (Fast Money and Eti) were allegedly removed from the scene of their murder by members of Eiye cult before the arrival of the police.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lanre Labinjo, the Deputy Commander of Onyabo Vigilante Group, confirmed the clash and the killings of two Eiye cult members and one Aiye cult member in the incident, while also disclosing that efforts are in top gear to arrest those involved in the crime.
