it was Christmas day as he led an entourage of enthusiastic Lagosians to his Epe Constituency for the second day of the second edition of the One Lagos Fiesta.
A mammoth crowd had gathered at the Epe Recreation Center, venue of the event. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas wis a home coming for Governor Ambode on th Christians, Muslims, traditionalists and people of other faiths after the day time festivities. It was late evening and the venue was already overflowing with people, who had not only come to unwind, but to have a closer glimpse of their son, the Governor of the state.
An extra-ordinary touch had been given to the stage decoration, the lighting, the giant video screens, the various stands for eateries, drinking bars, take away spots, suya, etc. As expected, the security arrangement was tight and professional. The atmosphere was agog with high voltage joy as the musical/entertainment programme flagged off in the premises known for youths and relaxation. This Southern gateway community to Lagos did not disappoint their son, Ambode, in their excitement, appreciation and conduct.
In his speech during the One Lagos Fiesta at Epe Recreational Centre, also known as Epe Youth Centre, Governor Ambode told the youths to embrace hardwork. He pointed out that he also started from Epe and by God’s grace, he is now the Governor of the state. He equally advised the youths to take advantage of the Employment Trust Fund (ETF) to achieve their dreams. Also in his speech, he made some promises to the people, “Between now and November next year, we are providing an Arts theatre in Epe. It is going to be a 500 seater theatre. We would also have a modern cinema here in Epe as well as a shopping mall.” The Governor revealed that he and his officials present were excited to be at the fiesta, which was bigger, bolder and better.
The event was well attended by dignitaries and artistes such as member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Olusegun Olulade; Comedian, Omobaba; Fuji Musician, Mr. Johnson Adewale Ayuba; Afro-Pop Stars, Adekunle Gold, Olu Maintain, Tiwa Savage and many others.
This fiesta ran for eight (8) days with lots of fun and creativity. It was indeed much enjoyment and enlightenment
