Al-Toyyibah Travel and Tours Limited, a travelling Agency in Ikorodu reputed for offering convincement and comfortable travelling services for tours and haj exercise has finalized arrangements to organize a six weeks vocational training and empowerment programme for youths in Ikorodu division.
In an interview with the Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Alhaji Abdullahi Jubril, the programme was made possible courtesy of Al-Toyyibah Foundation, a humanitarian outfit established by the agency to empower and educate younger entrepreneurs and youths in the society as a way of giving back to the society.
The CEO said that the foundation would also assist indigent students/youths in the division to procure forms for WAEC and JAMB exams including tutorials to enable them prepare well for the exams.
He also explained that the target audience for the first edition, which will commence on October 30, 2017 would be the school leavers and those who have interests in acquiring vocational skills. According to him, participants would receive training in area such as soap making, catering, event planning and management, make-up and make over, decoration, Bead-making and wire works.
On how to apply for the programme the Al-Toyyibah boss explained that the officials of the Foundation had already met with religious leaders across Ikorodu division to inform them about the programme and had also given them forms to be distributed free to interested youths while other interested applicants could also pick their forms at the corporate office of the agency located at No. 8 Kao Alabi Crescent off Ibidapo Shofunwa Estate, Oja bus stop, Agric, Owutu, Ikorodu.
Alhaji Jubrin said there would be strict monitoring and supervision of applicants/participants during the training to ensure seriousness, commitment and regular attendance while successful trainees would be empowered at the end of the programme. Jubril also intimated that the agency had finalized arrangement with a Bank to provide soft and repayable interest free loan for successful participants to assist them in establishing their own business in their areas of interest. He said that the foundation would continue to monitor their progress.
While stating that the fifty participants would take part in the inaugural edition, he explained that the training programme was open to both Muslim and Christian youths.
Regarding the source of funding for the foundation, the Chief Executive Officer said that it would be solely funded from the proceeds of the Al-Toyyibah Travel and Tours Limited. He stated that successful participants and their respective products would be showcased at the official launching of the foundation later this year.
Jubril also disclosed that the programme would be organized annually and urged the youths in the division to embrace the opportunity being offered by Al-Toyyibah Foundation to discover and develop their talents to attain a brighter future.
