The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2, comprising Lagos and Ogun sate, Mr. Ibrahim Adamu, on July 10, Monday, paid a courtesy visit to the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, to assess the security situation in the town.
While speaking during the visit, the AIG said that the purpose of the visit was to assess and evaluate the security situation in the division to enable the security operatives to forge ahead more progressively. According to him, the impact of the security operation in the division was visible as the crime rates have reduced significantly.
In his speech after the visit, Oba Shotobi told Oriwu Sun that there is no developing town or city without its own challenges, which was what Ikorodu was experiencing in this tough time. The monarch said that although the security challenge in the division was worrisome and disturbing, the police were on top of the situation with the support of the people.
He lauded the AIG’s visit and thanked him for making out time to come and assess the situation on ground.
