The attention of leaders and the entire people of Ikorodu division has been drawn to the continuous erroneous report particularly by the police and the media that Agbowa town is located in Ikorodu division, especially in the wake of the recent discovery and demolition of shrines in the town which belonged to the alleged sponsor of the deadly ‘Badoo’ cult gang, Alhaji Abayomi Alaka.
Agbowa is located in epe division and not Ikorodu division, hence the media and the police should stop addressing the town as part of Ikorodu division and always address it accordingly whenever the need arises.
This observation has also been raised by a concerned Ikorodu indigene, Prince Adedoyin Bamigbose in a letter titled; Re: Insecurity in Ikorodu division which he wrote to Oba Kabir Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu and which copy was minuted to Oriwu Sun newspaper.
In the letter, Prince Bamigbose called the attention of Oba Shotobi to the uncomplimentary statement being credited to the people of Ikorodu and the entire Ikorodu division over the ritualists shrines discovered in Agbowa.
He emphasized that the shrines were discovered and demolish in agbowa which is located in Epe division and not has been erroneously reported that the shrines were located in agbowa in Ikorodu.
Prince Bamigbose wondered why the police and media houses persist in attaching bad and irresponsible/condemnable act to Ikorodu division, stating that the statement needs to be corrected to let the world know that where these shrines were located is not in Ikorodu division.
He, therefore, urged the kabiesi and other concerned leaders in the division to take a step to correct this erroneous statement /information.
