Respite seems not in sight in Ikorodu as cultists again gunned down a resident in an apparent demonstration of disregard for human life.
The driver of the wife of a popular and wealthy Ikorodu man, Otunba Rafiu Adewale, was the latest victim of cult killings.
Reports reaching our news desk indicates that the driver had just taken home his master’s wife, parked their car and went to a nearby beer parlour near California Cinema, along Ireshe road, Ikorodu, where he wanted to cool off when some cultists stormed the parlour and shot him on his neck.
He died before he could be rushed to a hospital.
Unconfirmed reports stated that some of the cultists had been warning the driver to keep off a particular girl said to be a friend of one of them.
Perhaps, because the deceased did not heed to the warnings, the cultists laid ambush for him, trailed him and eliminated him.
This incident has again rattled security agencies in the division who are still battling with serial cult killings in the division which end is hardly in sight.
