Adewunmi Ogunsanya (SAN) now Odofin of Ikorodu

Kabir Shotobi as the Ayangbure of Ikorodu five years ago, the title of Odofin of Ikorodu has remained vacant. But not anymore as the illustrious son of the soil who is the Chairman of the MultiChoice Nigeria and one of the richest lawyers in Nigeria, Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN, has been confirmed for the coveted position.

The emergence of Chief Ogunsanya as the new Odofin did not come on à platter of gold as other major contenders battled for the position.

One of the contenders, a young man from the Kamson family of Ikorodu, alongside Chief Ogunsanya, later emerged as the two strongest contenders. However, the state government took time to examine the credentials of both candidates and eventually gave the nod for the conferment of the Odofin title on Adewunmi Ogunsanya.

No doubt, the choice of Ogunsanya was a popular decision because right from his childhood, he has been a lover of tradition and when his father also a Senior Advocate (SAN) was alive, he always followed him around during Magbo, Eluku, Agemo and other traditional festivals.

Adewunmi Ogunsanya is a free spender and mixer who is well loved in the community and would definitely perform his new role successfully and live up to everyone’s expectation.

Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN graduated with a Law degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury in 1984. In 1985, he was admitted to the Nigerian Bar. He obtained his LL.M Degree from the University of Lagos in 1987, specializing in the area of Criminal Law.

Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya joined Ogunsanya & Ogunsanya in 1986. He currently specializes in Real Estate, Intellectual Property, Insurance and Oil and Gas. In 2016, he earned the prestigious rank of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Chief Ogunsanya currently heads the litigation unit of Ogunsanya & Ogunsanya and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and The Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN). Simultaneously, he remains active in the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), and a recipient of numerous sterling awards.
