Adegbose family’s Omo-Oniles (land grabbers) attack Publisher, 7 months after court judgement over land dispute

Seven months after publisher of Oriwu Sun newspaper, Chief Monzor Olowosago obtained favourable judgment from the Ikeja High Court over land dispute between himself and the Agbose Family, the publisher visited the current occupants and tenants of the land to dialogue and work out modalities of ratification of their properties. Members of the Agbose Family who created a scene at the place truncated the peaceful visit by the publisher.
While Chief Monzor approached the land occupants and in the process of dialogue with three tenants on the parcel of land, two omo’niles from the Agbose Family arrived on the scene in a Sienna car and attacked the publisher.
No sooner they arrived, they started harassing him in a frantic tone questioning his audacity for meting with the land tenants. The omo’nile threatened to manhandle the publisher and teach him ‘lessons of his life’ if not for his personality.
In order not to aggravate the situation, Chief Monzor did not argue with them but made efforts to handle the confrontation in reasonable way by explaining to them that he only came to speak to the tenant after obtaining court judgement and verdict over the land. But the attackers wouldn’t listen and even ignorantly said the court did not notify them of any verdict, neither were they aware of any court judgment over the land.
The disgruntled Omo-Oniles argued that the court has not notify them over the decision regarding the land and that they own the land. All the time they argue, treacherously, they threatened to inflict unimaginable harm on Monzor if the publisher does not leave.
For peace to prevail, Chief Monzor Olowosago assured them the he would leave like they demand and will come back with bailiff to enforce the March 2021 rulings.
The publisher narrated to them how he deliberately waited for the family to appeal or challenge the High Court verdict six months after, but they never did. He cited similar cases of land dispute between the family and Prince Tajudeen Odofin, Boa Motors, Mr. Shina Amokomowo Mr. Jide Onofowokan and Mrs.
Where none of the omo’nile challenged the court verdict for apparent reasons. In the cited instances, the family never appealed because there was no strong evidence from the family. However, the Omo-Oniles kept deceiving buyers that the case is still in appeal court.
But some of the landlords who know the truth and yielded to their lawyers’ advice, they realised that they had no case in court and went ahead to negotiate ratification of their land with Tajudeen Odofin and the other defendants.
Chief Monzor Olowosago explained these to the ferocious Omo-Oniles and left the scene to avoid further altercation. He left and promised to get the court to serve them necessary documents regarding the verdict reached in March 2021.
