Abike Dabiri-Erewa donates personal protective equipment to Ikorodu General Hospital

Health workers, being the most vulnerable frontline workers in the fight against the corona virus pandemic all over the world, have always got the attention of the Lagos State Government as well as kind-hearted individuals and organisations with the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
As part of the support towards the fight against Covid 19 and measures to protect health workers, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO, Nigerian Diaspora Commission, has donated some protective equipment to the Ikorodu General Hospital on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
Mr. Ahmed Olalekan, who represented Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa to make the donation, stated that the decision to donate the protective gears (twenty (20) Protective Gowns and thirty (30) Face Shields) was borne out of the Chairman, Nigerian Diaspora Commission’s desire to prevent the spread of Covid 19 as well as to protect health workers against contracting the deadly virus.


Speaking at the handing over of the PPE to the hospital, the Medical Director, General Hospital, Ikorodu, Dr. (Mrs.) Adenike Odubiyi, appreciated Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for her kind and timely gesture, while also stating that it was a right step in the right direction.
She, however, called on other well-meaning organisations and indigenes of Ikorodu division to emulate Hon. Dabiri-Erewa’s thoughtful gesture to combat the deadly pandemic.
Dr. Abimbola Okudero, Director of Clinical Sciences, General Hospital, Ikorodu, equally lauded Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa’s gesture and promised that the protective equipment would be distributed accordingly and used judiciously.
