At first you would ask if this car is a suicide bomber, could it be a terrorist plunging his or her car into a mosque as in Borno State by Boko Haram members?
The answer is No. But the story is that a mass tragedy was averted on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in the early hours when the driver of this car for unknown reasons, drove his car into the Olowobusanbusan mosque along Alhaji/Eluku street in Central Ikorodu Business District.
This famous mosque, which holds Asalatu prayers for its Muslim faithful every Sunday for unknown reason did not hold the programe this particular Sunday.
Who knows if it was divinely arranged, because if worshippers were to be in action, many would have died from this accident or be injured.
The car (a jeep) tore through the fence of the mosque and plunged into the main mosque. Luckily, no one was killed or injured except the damages to the fence, the mosque and motorcycle.
Eye witnesses said the driver, said to be the son of a known Alhaja, was drunk and speeding from Itunmaja direction. One person was said to be sitting by his side in front of the car. He brushed aside some vehicles before driving into the mosque.
Residents said similar accident took place in that mosque two years ago when a vehicle brakes failed.
