Oba Shotobi honours 9 indigenes with chieftaincy titles

2Come August 6, 2016, another set of influential indigenes of Ikorodu, who have made their marks in various businesses and social circles would be honoured by Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi.
Their friends and families would troop out to add glamour to the epoch making ceremony, where kabiyesi would lay the foundation of the palace extension, which would gulp about one hundred and fifty million naira (N150million).
Already, during the stake-holders meeting at the Oba’s palace, about thirty million Naira (N30 million) was raised excluding building materials donated by Kabiyesi’s guests.
Among those to be honoured are, the Publisher of Oriwu Sun, Alhaji Monzor Olowosago, who is the Bobaroyin of Ikorodu, the title was given to him since 1991 by the former Oba, late Salaudeen Afolabi Oyefusi but would only performs the official ‘Iwuye’ ceremony while others are being recognized for the first time along with their beautiful wives. They are: Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, being recognized as the Opomulero of Ikorodu while his wife, Alhaja Tairat Agunbiade is the Yeye Opomulero of Ikorodu; Alhaji (Chief) Abdul Fatai Abiodun Wahab would be given the Obafuwajin of Ikorodu while his wife, Alhaja Fausat Atinuke Wahab would become the Yeye Obafuwajin of Ikorodu; Chief (Engineer) Akinola Awomodu would get the title of Otunba Anoko/Ogbonyari of Ikorodu while his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Olarenwaju A. Awomodu is the Otun Yeye Bewaji of Ikorodu and Chief Alliu Animashaun is the Maiyegun of Ikorodu and the wife, Chief (Mrs.) Abibat Iyabode Animashaun becomes Yeye Maiyegun of Ikorodu.
