
It was yet another moment of commendations praises and prayers for the performing and beloved representative of the lkorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, as his monthly food support programme, popularly called ‘Apo Anu’, received yet another torrent of commendations from party leaders and beneficiaries.
The commendations were heaped on the three term lawmaker at the March edition of the food distribution exercise held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his Constituency Office along Igbogbo-Ebute road, lkorodu.

The food distribution exercise, which is being managed by the lawmaker’s iCare Foundation, his operational platform, has been providing regular succour to residents, particularly the indigent ones across the lkorodu division, since its commencement in 2015, with scores of thousands of households already benefited from the laudable initiative.
The event was witnessed by Rep. Jimi Benson himself alongside several chieftains of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), some of whom assisted in presenting the food packs to the beneficiaries.

Like the previous editions, a total of 500 beneficiaries among whom were widows, elderly people, people living with disabilities, single mothers among others, nominated for the food programme across the six councils in lkorodu Federal Constituency, received the bumper food packages which contained rice, garri, sugar, beans, tomato paste, milk, noodles, spaghetti among others.
While the distribution was ongoing, some of the party leaders and beneficiaries spoke with Oriwu Sun, and commended Rep. Babajimi Benson for the food support, stating that the exemplary gesture has greatly helped to alleviate hunger occasioned by the current economic hardship in the country.
The beneficiaries particularly thanked the lawmaker for facilitating road construction and other people-oriented projects to their respective areas, stating that their lives have been greatly impacted by his representation.

They also assured that they would give him their full support for his political aspiration in 2027, while they also tipped him for the governorship position in Lagos State.
In her own remarks, Mrs Oluwatoyin Adebokun, who was a first time beneficiary of the food support programme, said that she has heard a lot about Rep. Babajimi Benson’s impactful representation, and that he done a lot of projects in her area in Igbe road, Igbogbo, including road construction and solar street light installation.

She prayed that God should grants the lawmaker good health and long life, so that he can do more for the people of lkorodu division.
In the same vein, Reverend Emmanuel Adeyemi lauded the lawmaker for the impacts of his representation in lkorodu division, and urged other politicians and wealthy individuals to emulate his good deeds, to make life better for the masses.
Also in an interview with Oriwu Sun, Mr Ayodele Odutola, who was full of praises and prayers for Rep. Babajimi Benson, for his monthly food programme and other projects he has brought to lkorodu division since his emergence as the representative of the lkorodu Federal Constituency in 2015, prayed that he should be given the opportunity to become the governor of Lagos State, and expressed confidence that the lkorodu people would support him fully in that regard.

Meanwhile, Mrs Olufunmi Basorun, a chieftain of APC, while also speaking briefly with our reporter at the event, said that Jimi Benson has really done well in giving out such quantity and quality food to the people, stating that such gesture deserves commendations, especially now that food are costly.
She explained that the lawmaker had been given the food support to his constituents before the prices of food skyrocketed, and commended him for sustaining the support despite that food prices are still very expensive, a gesture she said has proven that Rep. Jimi Benson is compassionate, reliable, and wants everyone to be fine, while adding that party leaders and lkorodu people are attracted to him because of his compassionate representation, and are always ready to support him whenever the needs arise.
Mrs Basorun urged other politicians to emulate the lawmaker’s gesture and be kind to people, stating that if several other politicians equally give out food to people regularly, the challenge of hunger ravaging people in lkorodu, will be drastically reduced.
Otunba Bayo Lawson, also speaking with Oriwu Sun, applauded Rep Benson for holding the food distribution exercise nonstop to feed 500 beneficiaries on monthly basis, since he started in 2015.
He added that the initiative has brought timely relief to thousands of households in lkorodu division, as well as helped to cushion the hunger inflicted on the people by the economic crisis facing the country.
He urged the people of lkorodu division, to reciprocate the lawmaker’s gesture by registering to become members of his party, APC, and vote for all the party’s candidates, including the lawmaker, in 2027, in order to continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy from him and his party.
Others party leaders at the event were Hon. Sunday Benson, Chairman, Imota LCDA and his Vice, Hon. Saka Nurudeen Solaja, former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing lkorodu Constituency II, Hon. Gbenga Basanya former Chairman of lgbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, and Mrs Osinowo, APC Woman leader among others.
